New Playful Space coming to Lincoln Estate

Since April this year playworkers from Play Association Tower Hamlets have been delivering play sessions on Burdett, Lincoln and Hind Grove estates. Every child needs to play, we all do, it’s part of being human and an experience that we all share, we’ve met hundreds of playful people of all ages at the sessions. Cartwheels, handstands, parkour, imaginary games, skipping, riding bikes, making things and chatting are all popular activities, the play sessions are for all ages so why not come along and tell the team what you like to play?

Following lots of discussions, letters, meetings and feedback from residents on Lincoln estate about play places a new playful space will be created on a green space next to Sleaford House. A basket swing and sunken trampoline have been ordered, they are currently being made in Germany ready for delivery to Lincoln in early December, if there are no delays this will be installed before Christmas.

The weekly play sessions will continue at Burdett, behind Celandine House on Thursdays 3.30 – 6pm, at Lincoln in Whitethorn Street play area Fridays 3.30 – 6pm and Hind Grove near the community centre on Saturdays 12.00 – 3.00pm. There are no sessions this school holiday but the team will be back again in January. To talk more about play where you live please contact Eleanor Image on 0207 729 3396
