George Lansbury Walk
Adopted East Ender George Lansbury (1859-1940) had a distinguished career in Labour politics which included his early championing of women’s suffrage. Led by Malcolm Barr-Hamilton (Tower Hamlets archivist), the annual Lansbury walk will take in many of the sites associated with George and other East End radicals he knew and worked with. The walk starts from St Mary’s Bow, where George long served as church warden, and returns there for refreshments afterwards.
Free 2.00pm – 5.00pm Sat 12 May
