CaN launches Live Well Community Training Kitchen
Poplar HARCA’s Communities and Neighbourhoods (CaN) Team has recently launched another community resource called Live Well Community Training Kitchen. It was built alongside a communal Green House, a food growing area and a 2015 Chelsea Flower Show winning ornamental garden.
The training kitchen completes the plan to create an integrated space that will open opportunities in food growing, training in healthy cooking and food enterprise as well as providing a beautiful and relaxing space for local people.
This dynamic space has been jointly managed by the Limborough Community Gardening Group, Leaders in Community (LiC) and the Women’s Environmental Network (WEN) with support from CaN staff based at St. Paul’s Way Community Centre.
In addition, CaN in partnership with the Development Team and Play Association Tower Hamlets (PATH), is creating a play space for toddlers near the entrance to the Green. (Watch this space for the launch of the play area).
We thank all our partners especially the People’s Postcode Trust (PPT) which contributed funds to complete the scheme as well as our colleague Mark Ashmole of the Development Team who has led the construction side of the project. We thank Morgan Stanley again for donating the flower garden.
