Fern Street Settlement Summer update
Find out what’s coming up at Fern Street Settlement, including support available to families and activities for children and young people.
Our Cook Together parents group (Mondays 12.30-2.30pm) continues (with a break for Ramadan) this term. Do give us a call if you know a parent who might want to join in and make some new friends.
Our ESOL assessment days for September’s new course will be: Friday 14th July 9-3pm and Tuesday 18th July 12-3pm. The course is suitable for the lowest level learners who struggle to read and write letters of the alphabet or short words. It runs Sept – July. Please do contact us if you have parents who would like to come along for the assessment.
Joanna’s Sing Together sessions for ages 1-3 (Fridays 10.30-11.30) continue to be alot of fun (as well as great for developing those early communication skills) and we’re also planning a new Baby Club for ages 12months and under which will start after Ramadan.
Thank you everyone who backed our Storyspace crowdfunder! You helped us raise an amazing £3500 to revamp part of our centre to better introduce young children and their families to the wonderful world of stories. We look forward to welcoming families to this soon.
We can offer flexible support to families with children aged 11 and under who need advice and help with areas such as managing children’s behaviour, building their parenting skills, accessing community services etc. If you would like to refer a family local to us for support, you can now download our new family support referral form from our website www.fernstreet.org.uk
Also attached is our programme for this term. Please do feel free to signpost or refer families to our activities, or give us a call to find out more on 0207 987 1949.
