It’s good to bee in Poplar…

Young beekeepers trained by Leaders in Community celebrated their graduation at Limborough green hub on Sunday 12 August. The graduates decorated a cake with bee figures at Poplar HARCA’s Live Well Community Training Kitchen, a facility located within the garden.

The beekeeping training is part of a partnership project between Leaders in Community, Poplar HARCA and Greening Brownfield Community Garden (where the bee hives are situated). The apiary was recently revived through the project to enable more beekeeping activities and training.

We hope to get some honey again from the apiary after last year’s successful harvest. The revived apiary is the second of the two established by LiC and Poplar HARCA, from which the first Poplar honey was born.
